Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine can provide a safe and effective alternative to conventional treatment for many health conditions. The principles, philosophies and practices of traditional herbal medicine, have been passed down through the centuries and the benefits are increasingly being supported and explained by modern scientific research.

During an initial consultation a detailed case history will be taken exploring current and past health issues, lifestyle, nutrition and details of any medications or supplements. A herbal mix is then made up and you may be advised to attend a follow up appointment a few weeks later to review progress.

A herbalist will be able to advise if your health concern can be treated or managed by herbal medicine.  Some of the common conditions that can be successfully treated or managed using herbal medicine include;

  • Ear nose and throat (sore throat, mouth ulcers, infections, hayfever, allergy)
  • Respiratory conditions (chest infections, coughs, catarrh)
  • Digestive conditions (IBS, infections, indigestion, bloating, constipation, diarrhoea)
  • Bladder and urinary tract (UTIs, cystitis)
  • Musculoskeletal conditions (joint and muscular pains, inflammation)
  • Skin conditions (eczema, acne, infections, cuts and grazes, burns, allergy),
  • Psychological problems (anxiety, low mood, insomnia, fatigue, stress)
  • Women’s health conditions (menstrual problems, menopausal symptoms),
  • Men’s health conditions (BPH)
  • Immune support (infections, depleted or dysregulated immune responses)
  • Pain management (arthritis, menstrual pain, headache, migraine).

Herbal medicine can also help with many other issues; please get in touch with any of our herbalists to discuss further.
