Person Centred Counselling

As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, non judgemental and confidential environment, a safe place where you can be yourself.  I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is paramount, and together we can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, so you feel listened to and comfortable in our sessions.

Person-centred counselling was originally developed by the psychotherapist Carl Rogers, and emphasises the qualities of the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist.  Rogers believed that all individuals have the ability for growth and enhancement, and healing can occur within the relationship if the client feels they are being valued, understood and accepted.

Person-centred therapy can help people change the way they think and feel about themselves and therefore facilitate a positive change. As the therapist, I will enter into your world alongside you, to support you on your counselling journey.

First Session

Making the first steps to attend counselling can be overwhelming, so I offer a free 30 minute first session, giving you the opportunity to see whether you feel we will work well together. Concessionary rates may be available where applicable.

You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the sessions, and what you are hoping to get from therapy.
