Movement for Mobility

Exercise and yoga can be hard on the joints, especially if you are experiencing wear and tear. However, it is so important to keep mobility and movement going.
Encouraging full mobility in the joints helps to decrease the risk of injury by building strength and better supporting the muscles. Instead of holding difficult poses for long periods, or fast movements that put too much pressure on the joints, we will concentrate on gentle movement and stretching. This gentle, sustained motion can also lubricate joints and reduce swelling.
Chair yoga is also an option if floor work is difficult to begin with and we will work up to creating flexibility in the hips and knees.
I can promise that you will feel lighter, more open and more relaxed after some stretching, deep breathing and meditation. My intention is to gently improve your quality of life through sustained, gentle movements.
Please note that I am not a doctor or trained physio. My experience has come through working with people that have limitations and coming up with solutions. Please ensure that you consult a doctor if you have any concerns beforehand or injuries that need special care.
