Yoga with Emma Cutler

I like to consider everything as a learning experience and Yoga in particular is an ancient science, tried and tested over thousands of years – where much can be learned and applied to everything, including modern day sports, to increase performance as well as help prevent injury. I am keenly interested in our truly awe inspiring capabilities as human beings and providing everyone with techniques to assist them to achieve their full potential.
Although I am relatively recently trained in teaching Yoga, I began my own Yoga journey around 2001 and in this time had some hugely inspiring and wonderful teachers including Swami Ji who was based at the Patanjali Yoga Centre in Battle, East Sussex as well as Yogacharya Lalit in Goa, India. I was blessed to spend five weeks training in Goa during the early part of 2017. Since graduating in 2015 and combined with my enthusiasm and interest in my own growth as a teacher, I have now completed over 2000 hours teaching time, giving me a huge amount of valuable experience in a short time. I consider myself a people person and do my best to cater for everyone and make their experience relaxing, enjoyable and fun with an emphasis on self exploration and personal growth within their practice. My background is in sports and in particular off road cycling (Mountain Biking) where I participated in racing as well as road racing for a number of years. I specialise in Yoga for Cyclists as part of my 500 hour RYT training.
Friday evening 5.30pm at The Elysian Centre, Hatha Restorative Yoga
A slow, gentle and restorative class suitable for beginners as well as all other levels of experience. This class combines different asana posture movements and restorative poses with props (blankets, bolsters, ties etc.) offering the opportunity to find deep relaxation. Different props support longer holds of postures within comfort levels. This is an ideal practice after a strenuous week for anyone who wants to work deeply with less effort.
Hatha Restorative Yoga is also highly complementary to a regular exercise programme for, amongst many other things, injury prevention and providing a chance to recuperate. Recent studies also provide data to show that significant weight loss in Restorative Yoga has been attributed by participants to significantly decreased stress levels.
Emma Cutler is a graduate of Harmonise Training Academy in Brighton (200hr RYT training) in 2015 and Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre in Goa, India (500hr RYT training) in 2017. Other qualifications include Personal Training, Gym/Fitness Instruction, Exercise to Music, Indoor Group Cycling, Combat Fitness and Aromatherapy Massage. All these and other styles of Yoga (Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga Vinyasa) can be taught in groups or one to one sessions at the Elysian Centre.
